Who is also a part of the biggest cover-up in Oneida County History.
Picente, who was appointed in 2006 to serve as the Oneida County Executive was placed into power prior to being elected in the old musical chairs fashion. In what would seem to be his finest hour, having fashioned the Oneida County Executive's office with his short haircut, V-neck sweater vests, matching tie and pocket square, he would later over indulge, setting precedent that, "Whatever Picente wants to do, he does; in all aspects of his life and career."
Picente who as County Executive is paid more than 21 US governors, is not only overpaid, but out of control. It all started in 2007. Read more about him in the Caitlin McCann tab.
"It wasn't the scandal that got Nixon, it was the cover-up"
In late December 2017, Picente hired his former boss, Robert Julian, who was the former Oneida County Republican Majority Leader of the county legislature and whom had also once been a state supreme court judge, to benefit from a county contract. Julian, the former NYS Supreme Court Judge, was hand-picked along side known mobster attorney and former law partner, Louis Brindisi, the father of Democrat Congressman Anthony Brindisi to fight the opioid crisis for Oneida County. Prior to wining his seat on the bench, Julian admitted to having cheated on his final exam in law school (see the article below). He would later abruptly leave the bench without explanation, finding an office to work from in Brindisi's basement. Mobster Attorney Brindisi and Julian would get a very lucrative contract because of their relationship with Picente. Later, Brindisi would be asked to protect Picente acting as Caitlin McCann's attorney on behalf of Picente, you know, the guy that had given these two political hacks a crack at hundreds of thousands of dollars in public funds. When asked in deposition, who was paying her legal fees, McCann replies, "I have no legal fees." Brindisi would immediately respond, "First of all, that is between a client and her attorney." Gordon would respond to Brindisi, "I think she has already answered that question Mr. Brindisi".
In the "Mobfiles," written by Rocco LaDucca circa 2009, formerly a reporter for the Utica Observer Disgrace, he said, "Perhaps someone was trying to send Brindisi a message, who had made plenty of headlines in the previous decade representing a variety of rough characters linked to organized crime." Do you think Brindisi, a mastermind at covering up crimes for the mob, was the perfect man to hide Picente and McCann's affair?
Disgraced attorney Bob Julian, would then be obtained by both Picente and the District Attorney Scott McNamara to stave off subpoenas and depositions to further the cover-up of the Oneida County Executive's affair with his staffer.
The Judge proceeding in the McCann v Gordon case, Scott DelConte, who was Julian's protégé, would later refer to Julian as, "The esteemed attorney Robert Julian". It was a love fest of sorts between the corrupt and the corrupted. The scheme team would be in full effect.
Who better to represent Picente and the District Attorney than a former bench warmer who kept the seat warm for DelConte?
At "Republican" (notice the quotations) Oneida County Executive Anthony Picente's campaign announcement for re-election January 6th 2019, Democrat District Attorney Scott McNamara posses for a photo having thrown full support behind his buddy, Picente.
Gordon, would whistle blow about Picente's abuse of power in his office a little over a month later.
On February 12th 2019, the day after Gordon called on the District Attorney to investigate the allegations against the county executive, the District Attorney, Scott McNamara would again go on the train wreck radio show, Keeler in the Morning saying, "I am not investigating any of this."
Why would the DA investigate these allegations? I mean after all, he had professed his support for Picente on more than one occasion most recently at his re-election announcement. Interesting how that works. McNamara would later be subpoenaed by Gordon to give testimony into his statements to not investigate. Attorney Robert Julian would get not only the subpoena quashed (squashed) but also get the judge to award the DA over $2000.00 for having to go through the trouble of getting off from testifying.
