Lake City Refuge

After finding out Caitlin was pregnant, her parents sent  her to Grandma's house in Lake City SC. Sound familiar? Yes, In the old days Grandma fixed everything...Remember, what happens at Grandma's, stays at Grandma's. Have you watched the video (In their own words) yet where McCann said she moved for, "Better Weather?" Yup, to grandma's she went. From a powerful staffer for the Oneida County Executive, to Grandmas couch in Lake City SC. Not exactly Charleston, SC and certainly not a promotion...Rumor has it that to this day, McCann's body imprint still rests comfortably in Gram's couch.

Where is Lake City SC? Lake City is approximately (2) two hours North of Charleston SC. McCann's extended family lives in the greater Lake City, Florence SC area. So how and why did McCann go to Charleston? Isn't the weather the same in Lake City at Grandma's house as it is in Charleston? Well, the answer may surprise you. No, I know what you are thinking, and I will tell you this, it wasn't for a job, because after she left gram's, she lived in Mt. Pleasant SC (north of Charleston) in a rental unit for a short (3) three month stint. In that time, she worked as a server at Bubba Gump Shrimp Factory (Restaurant). Yes, it comes from the movie Forest Gump. Remember Forest sitting on the boat waving? That was cool right? Similarly to Gump, McCann was on the run, having ran several Boilermaker Road Races, this time with baggage. Could she outrun the clock and more importantly, lose that baby bump? Not exactly, slinging press releases and hanging out with the status elite on the 10th floor of the Oneida County Office Building. I mean, yeah, she still had to run for Tony's lunch in Utica, but now, she had to work in a restaurant, coming home smelling like a fish fry all because....well her boss in Utica had to have dessert too.

Oh, back to the meat and potatoes, after McCann did her 13 month lap around South Carolina from New York, her ex-roommates recollection was, "that McCann was picked up like a child and abruptly taken away by her parents, leaving items behind". Who does that? The roommate also recalls her living like she was temporarily placed. "She had all this money. She could buy anything she wanted. I remembered thinking to myself, where did she get all this money," recalled the ex-roommate.

When asked if McCann ever mentioned working for a politician in New York the ex-roommate said, "I never knew any of that".

Why would McCann, not be proud of having such a great job working in government? Maybe, just maybe, it wasn't her proudest moment? But, slinging coleslaw and hotdogs was. She did tell the ex-roommate all about her family business.

A few years after McCann was picked up by ma and pa, Gram put the house on the market. Unfortunately for her, the house never sold. Look at them photos...See anything that stands out?
